About Sold Price

Real house sale prices for England and Wales — straight from HM Land Registry.

What we do

Sold Price shows what homes in England and Wales actually sold for. Every figure comes straight from HM Land Registry's Price Paid Data — the official record of every residential sale since 1995. No estimates, no agent's spin, no black box.

Where our figures come from

Price Paid Data is published monthly by HM Land Registry under the Open Government Licence. When a home completes, the price is recorded by law, which is why the data is complete and trustworthy. Scotland and Northern Ireland keep their own registers, so this site currently covers England and Wales.

How it works

We take the raw transaction records, tidy them up, and turn them into a clear page for every town: the average and median price, the price per square metre, what each property type goes for, and the latest recorded sales. We refresh the figures monthly so the picture stays current.

Why we built it

Buying a home is usually the biggest financial decision most of us ever make, yet the one fact that matters most — what nearby homes actually sold for — is buried in spreadsheets that few people can open. We wanted to give a plain, honest answer to a simple question: "What did that house sell for?"
